comments on an interesting serendipity. In 1957 King Faisal of Iraq, invited Frank Lloyd Wright to design a new opera house for Baghdad. The design was ready when along came the 1958 revolution and the opera house never got built. Not wanting to waste his efforts Wright offered his design to a new client. The Baghdad Opera House was built as the Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium at Arizona State University - the location of this week's debate between George Bush and John Kerry.
